The Frome Food Network is building awareness of food sustainability and the local food economy in Frome

A collective of 160+ people, businesses, and organisations local to the area – including producers, processors, chefs, retailers, researchers, and restaurateurs – the Frome Food Network (FFN) facilitates collaborative action among its members towards a more vibrant and sustainable Food Town.

As well as making connections, we put on and support public and FFN member-only events such as network socials, talks, farm walks, and pop-ups.

To join or tap into the network, or learn about local ideas, projects, and opportunities related to food in Frome, email hugh@fromefoodnetwork.co.uk.

Canteen

A series of pop-ups on the theme of a ‘pay-what-you-can community restaurant’. Food is hearty and wholesome, seasonal, and supports local producers as much as possible. Across eight events, Canteen served 1,074 people.

Pumpkin Day Food Festival and Harvest Swap

A collaboration with Frome Field 2 Fork to add ‘eating festival’ elements to the existing growing festival angle. The results included a pop-up mini market of local food producers, and a free lunch incorporating ingredients from within 10 miles of Frome.

This Food is Rubbish

As part of Great Big Green Week 2023, this ‘edible lecture’ explored commonly neglected or overlooked food in and outside of conventional food systems. The FFN supported chef-artists Cherry Truluck and Annalee Levin with back-up funding, venue hire, facilitation, marketing, and ticket sales.
